AI & automation

AI and automation that earns its keep

XCom helps businesses automate the work that should not require a human every time: lead intake, status updates, reporting, content drafts with human review, and small internal tools. This sits beside website and web app work, not in place of it.

Who this is for

  • Owners drowning in repeatable administrative work
  • Teams copying data between tools by hand
  • Companies that want AI in the workflow with a human still accountable
  • Clients who already trust XCom for web work and want the next layer

What is worth automating

The profile is consistent: a task that is repetitive, well defined, and low risk when it fails. Routing an inquiry, formatting a report, drafting something a person will edit before it goes out.

The test we apply is simple. If the automation gets it wrong, how expensive is that? Misfiling an internal note costs a minute. Sending a wrong answer to a customer costs the relationship. The first is a good candidate and the second is not.

What this is not

  • National brochure copy about being the best AI firm
  • Guarantees about Google AI Overviews or rankings
  • Unsupervised bots on customer-facing systems without review gates
  • Replacing staff with something that needs more supervision than the task did

Typical projects

  • Lead capture routed to a structured notification or CRM draft
  • Internal dashboards that summarize operational data
  • Approved content drafts for internal or marketing use
  • Website plus automation as one engagement when the site is the intake layer

The maintenance question

Every automation is a small system that needs to keep working. Tools change their interfaces, credentials expire, and edge cases surface that nobody anticipated.

That upkeep is real and we account for it honestly. An automation saving twenty minutes a month is usually not worth building, because the maintenance will exceed the savings. One saving several hours a week almost always is. We will tell you which side of that line an idea falls on before you pay for it.

Common questions

Will AI replace our staff?
That is not what this work is for. It removes repetitive tasks so people spend time on judgment work. Automation that needs more supervision than the task it replaced is not worth building.
How do we know an automation is worth it?
Compare hours saved against upkeep. Saving twenty minutes a month rarely justifies the maintenance. Saving several hours a week almost always does. We will say which side your idea falls on.
Do we need a new website to add automation?
Usually not. Automation often attaches to an existing site or operations stack. It only requires a rebuild when the current system has no reliable way to send or receive data.
